Pigs in a Blanket

I never thought I’d get this excited about pigs in a blanket again… but here we are. These are cheesy, crispy, crowd-pleasing little bites and they just so happen to be gluten-free thanks to a shortcut I’ll now be using forever: Brazi Bites.

I made these for a cozy Friday movie night with my kids and they disappeared faster than the popcorn. You don’t need to prep dough from scratch, and there’s zero compromise on flavor. Plus, you can prep them ahead and bake them straight from the fridge. Appetizer MVP!

Recipe Tips

Use Garlic Cheese Bread from Brazi Bites instead of Cheddar & Parmesan for an extra boost of seasoning. It follows the same prep/bake method.

Serving ideas: Set out multiple dipping sauces — honey mustard, spicy aioli, ketchup or even a Brazilian?inspired malagueta pepper aioli.

Make?ahead hack: Assemble the wrapped bites and freeze on a sheet. When ready, bake directly from frozen with an additional 5–10 minutes if needed.

Don’t overheat the Brazi Bites before flattening, they just need to be soft enough to press down.

Pinch the dough tightly around the sausage so it doesn’t burst open while baking.

Serve with a trio of sauces for dipping, kids love choosing their own.

You can prep and assemble these up to a day in advance and refrigerate until ready to bake.

Serving Suggestions: These cheesy pigs in a blanket pair perfectly with:

They’re also great for tailgates, game days, book clubs, or any social gathering; they fly off the tray fast.

A platter of fresh veggies and crackers

A variety of dipping sauces lined up in small bowls

Cold beverages like beer, punch, or fizzy mocktails

Fridge: Store baked pigs in a blanket in an airtight container for up to 4 days. Reheat at 350°F for 5–10 minutes or in the air fryer to keep crisp.

Freezer: Freeze before baking—place assembled pigs in a blanket on a sheet pan until solid, then transfer to a bag. Bake straight from frozen with 5–7 extra minutes.
